Description
The Reed Tetra is a subtle yet charming freshwater species appreciated for its slender body, gentle coloration, and calm demeanor. This peaceful schooling fish thrives in groups of six or more and is well-suited to nano and small community aquariums, typically 10 gallons or larger, with stable, well-filtered water and minimal flow. Reed Tetras prefer slightly acidic to neutral water conditions and display their best behavior in planted tanks that provide soft cover, subdued lighting, and open areas for relaxed swimming. Their mild temperament makes them excellent companions for other small, non-aggressive species. Hardy and undemanding, they readily accept fine flakes, micro-pellets, and small frozen foods, making them an elegant, low-maintenance addition to peaceful freshwater setups.
