Petco Freshwater Fish Blue Tetra, (Boehlkea fredcochui)
Description
The Blue Tetra is a lively, eye-catching freshwater schooling fish prized for its shimmering, iridescent blue body and active swimming behavior. Best kept in groups of six or more, this species thrives in aquariums of 20 gallons or larger with stable, well-filtered water, moderate flow, and ample open swimming space. Blue Tetras do well in slightly acidic to neutral water and appreciate planted tanks that provide visual security without restricting movement. They are generally peaceful but energetic, making them ideal tankmates for other fast-moving community fish. Hardy and unfussy, they readily accept flakes, micro-pellets, and frozen foods, and their constant motion adds energy and color to a freshwater setup.
