Questions
My cat has eaten this for years. But lately, the food has contained hard shards of bone and my cat refuses to eat it. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it a bad batch? Has this defect been solved? I do t want to order more if the problem still exists.
- Hello! While we do not add bone and cartilage as separate ingredients to our cans, the meat constituents will naturally contain some bone and cartilage. We work to assure that the bone pieces are ground down and have specifications for the amount, size, and shape of the bone contained in the cans. The amount of bone and cartilage will vary based on the raw material being used at the time. We do sample and check all of our products and have currently taken our grinding and bone size down as far as possible. We work to assure that the bone pieces are very small and not in the least bit dangerous. We have conferred with our on-staff veterinarian on the subject and confirmed that bone pieces small in size present no risk to a pet. Thanks!
