Bought a bunch of sleeves as these are barely in stock at the stores. The sleeves used to be thicker and i would replace them every 2 weeks. They're half the thickness now and i'm looking at replacing them every week. I used to be able to rinse the sleeve if it got too dirty prior to the 2 week mark, but now it's almost impossible to rinse it as the waste really sticks to the sleeve. Not sure if making them thinner was a cost saving measure or if it was to "improve performance". Will be looking at fluval instead.

Great quality sleeves, although the quality used to be better, they are still really good.

I've used a Magnum Internal Polishing Filter for my 55 African Cichlid Tank for over a year now, and while this small canister filter is powerful and effective, the sleeves, although good at trapping debris, clog up and become useless after 2 weeks. I knew a month would be more than I'd expect to get out of it, but having to change it every two weeks alone is annoying, worse still is the fact that that's after taking it out to clean and dry it every 3-4 days within said 2 week period. What's even more disappointing is that I only feed my fish once every two days to keep their metabolism from being overwhelmed due to living in a cooler setting than I bought them in almost a year ago, and it still gets gunked up to the point of causing a drastic reduction in water flow within the same time frame of every 3-4 days. The filter itself is fantastic, but the overall design of these sleeves is counterintuitive, and frankly, asinine to what they are suggested to be able to do.

Exactly what I needed. However I thought that it was only one filter in the package when I ordered it but there are 3per package so now I have a 9 months supply

We will be getting more of these internal filters. This review is for the filter that goes into it. Highly recommend.

Yes this a great small filter. Only problem I see is the filter floss is so thin that it compacts rapidly. I'm using several in my business to develop this opinion. We find they need cleaned in two weeks of service and two weeks later you might as well change the floss because it'll be so compacted that you won't be filtering much water through it and the impeller will be chattering. We then get phone calls because of the noise. Only other negative is the RED strip on the filter. We all place our filters and try to hide them but it's pretty hard to hide the bright RED stripe at the top of filter!
