This was my first time trying a tank with a built in side filter and I’m pretty disappointed. The filter sock needs to be cleaned every 3 days or the water drops too low on the filter side of the tank. I also don’t like that the filter grille (before the sock) has wide slots, but just narrow enough to get clogged with slimy debris. This grille is also very close to the top of the tank, meaning you need to add water constantly because too much evaporation could burn up the pump. It really should have a secondary intake lower on the wall to prevent the water from dropping too much on the pump side. I like the clarity of the glass, but I wouldn’t say it’s anything crazy better than your average tank at a pet store. I’m considering tearing down this tank and removing the walls to the side filter, gutting the current filtration and replacing it with a sponge filter in the corner.

No, I do not recommend this product.
