I bought 2. Does okay above 10 degrees. It’s 4 degrees outside now and both pans have a solid 2 inches of ice on the surface. Water is not frozen solid but is inaccessible to the animals due to the sheet of ice. Very disappointing.

I have a 5 gallon rubber flat back horse watering bucket that I use during the winter for my ducks it got the six degrees last night and that 5 gallon bucket was froze solid... More waste of money

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had to wait till it was cold enough to use this but once we hit freezing temps I stuck it in my goats water bucket. It works perfectly. The water never froze. It never warmed it so there was no concern it would get to hot. It just kept it from freezing and my goats drank it up each day. Definitely recommend. I’ll be getting another for the second bucket !

What temperature does the plate heat up to?
