Customers say

Customers overwhelmingly praise these self-warming pads for their body-activated comfort that cats eagerly adopt. Reviewers consistently describe the pads as soft, thick, and sherpa-like, with cats choosing them over other beds and spending extended time resting on them. The self-warming feature provides gentle heat without electricity, making them safe for windows, crates, and outdoor use. Many owners report particular benefits for senior cats with aching joints and outdoor cats enduring cold weather. The machine-washable, low-profile design adds practical appeal. A few customers note their cats showed no interest, though most attribute this to individual pet preference rather than product quality.

These pads are wonderful … two sided and wash easily. We made it through some very cold days putting in our feral cat outdoor cat house … own two for easy switch of air drying needs a day (drys quickly)

I bought this for the stray cat I take care of, not knowing if she would go on it. First night I put it out, she was on it , looking very comfortable indeed. I’m buying another, in case she really just wants to stretch out. Thank you K&H for a wonderful product!

Would this be good to put in an outdoor shelter for community cats in the winter, or would it just absorb and reflect the cold and not help keep them warm?

While our self-warming products are great for the indoors, they are not designed to return enough body heat for the cold outdoor temperatures of winter. Rather, they are designed to elevate the temperature of a pet bed that is already around room temperature. For outdoor pets, we recommend using the Lectro-Soft Outdoor Heated Bed, Lectro-Kennel, or Extreme Weather Kitty Pad. These are made for the outdoors and will provide enough heat for an outdoor setting during the cold winter month

I'd appreciate to learn what exactly makes that pad worm? What materials are used in manufacturing this product?

Thank you for your feedback! The self-warming pet beds use the pet’s own body heat to keep them warm. All K&H Self-Warming Beds feature a unique 2-layer fabric that radiates heat back to the source. - Layer 1 works as insulation to capture the heat. - Layer 2 reflects the heat back to the source (your pet). This self-warming fabric helps your pet stay warm without the need for electricity. The exterior of the bed is made of soft micro-fleece top for comfort.
