Customers say

Customers praise the toy for exceptional play engagement, with many reporting their dogs are obsessed and entertained for extended periods during fetch and carry play. However, widespread frustration centers on the handle's poor durability—it frequently tears or gets chewed off within minutes to hours, especially with medium to large breed dogs. While some report the ball lasting months or years, many express disappointment over declining quality. Several reviewers suggest the handle-free version is far more durable. Overall, customers appreciate the play value but remain divided on whether durability justifies the purchase.

Was looking for a herding style ball for my 100 black GSD. Found the XL Jolly Ball Tug-n-toss at the local pet store and figured I’d give it a try. I was giving it about a week before the handle was shredded off and the ball part was torn to bits. I was wrong. This thing is tough and he absolutely loves it. We play fetch like it’s a soccer ball. We can play tug with it, but his favorite is keep away! Highly recommend this to aggressive, chewers and high drive dogs sized appropriately.

I got this not even 2 hours ago. I took him to Pet Supplies Plus. We wash our dog there less mess. After his bath he get to pic out a toy. He picked his ball. Got home he has been playing it ever since I have to take it cuz he eat the handle off of it. There needs to be a company out there that comes up with a extreme durable balls.

Lousy warranty

What dog isn't going to chew on the tug n toss handle. It's the most vulnerable part of the entire ball. Yet the warranty does not cover chewing. One could say that a hollow handle is a manufacturing issue and causes destruction from chewing.

Bought this 6" ball today for my poodle puppy. He chewed into the handle within the first 5 tosses across the yard. Once inside he chewed the handle off in less than 20 minutes

My dogs have adored these jolly balls over the last 23 years, but sadly they are all obsessed with removing the handle. And yes it doesn’t take long, but we trim them up and use until they get into the main part of the ball. My absolute wish is that Jolly Pets can manufacture a solid handle for this product.. it will still bounce and roll. Our Dogs are always so proud to carry these toys around and play keep away💙

Questions

1 - 7 of 7 Questions

Do you think I could use this for tetherball game? Or is it to hard of a ball?

  1. It’s too hard. They break dogs teeth.

Is the measurement of 4,6,8 or 10 the diameter of the ball or does it include the handle?

  1. 4.5, 6, 8 & 10 of the diameter of the ball not including the handle

What size should I get for a Gottingen mini pig

  1. Hello! On a dog scale, we recommend the below sizing based on their weights 0-20lbs - 4.5" (Small) 20-60lbs - 6" (Medium) 60-90lbs - 8" (Large) 90+lbs - 10" (Extra Large)

What size is this ball? is it the 10inch?

  1. The one I got is 10"

So you offer various colors but you select it for buyers. How do we know you have other colors? My money. My choice. You don’t get to pick the color I want.

  1. True, walk in store & choose your color.

I've seen this same ball - same brand - but sometimes the title will state "equine" - are there different versions for horses opposed to dogs? I think the ad I saw that said equine, the ball was orange - could it be the orange is always for horses?

  1. Hello - thank you for your inquiry. We manufacture the same product for both of our ranges - equine & dog. The only difference is the packaging

With the Jolly Ball the handle over time gets destroyed, have they reinforced it?

  1. When our dogs chewed off the handle, I put a loop of rope through the two holes left by the missing original handle, knotted it and they had a tug-toy ball that has  lasted quite a while.
