Description
Instant Ocean Reef Crystals Reef Salt is formulated especially for use in reef aquariums. It contains essential ocean reef elements in concentrations greater than those found in natural sea water. Extra calcium encourages the growth of large and small polyp stony corals (LPS and SPS) as well as coralline algae. Extra trace elements provide an additional measure of vital nutrients, and extra vitamins help to promote vigorous growth and survival of corals, anemones and other invertebrates in a captive environment. Rating Snapshot
Review this Product
Customers say
Customers overwhelmingly praise this salt mix for consistent, reliable performance that supports thriving aquariums and vibrant coral growth. Most highlight quick, clean dissolution with no residue, stable alkalinity and calcium levels, and excellent value. Many report years of loyal use without quality decline, with long-term users citing over a decade of dependable results. Reviewers particularly value the balanced trace elements ideal for sensitive reef corals. A few note magnesium requires separate supplementation, and some report isolated packaging or residue issues, but these are vastly outweighed by enthusiastic endorsements from experienced aquarists.

Questions
Will this mess with my nitrate nitrite and pH levels?
- This will adjust the pH to the appropriate level for marine animals which is 8.3. It will not increase or decrease nitrite or nitrate levels. Those are controlled by nitrifying bacteria and partial water changes, etc.

How long can this store for?
- It has no shelf life as long as it stays dry and is stored in an airtight container, it will last.

I'm looking to make my 60 gallon into a saltwater tank and was wondering do i just need this, or this plus the salt for the water?
- This is a salt mix, intended for reef tanks. If you plan to have fish only or fish with live rock, Instant Ocean would be the correct one to use, instead of Reef Crystals.

Is this safe for fish too?
