Hang-on-internal filtration provides ongoing water purification for your aquarium through chemical, mechanical and biological filtration. Additionally, the use of coconut carbon media versus traditional coal carbon provides a more desirable form of chemical filtration. Choosing the right size aquarium filter can be a challenge. For most aquatic life, we recommend finding a filter that will turn the volume of your aquarium water an average of 6 times per hour. However, this will vary for slow swimmers that need less flow.

Can I use this for shallow water?
- Hi, The Imagitarium IN-FIL 40 Internal Filter is approximately 9.2 inches tall and requires the motor and water intake to be fully submerged for safe and effective operation. While adaptable with an adjustable hanger and suction cups, it is primarily designed for standard 20 to 40-gallon aquariums, not shallow-water terrariums. Thanks.

Can I get a replacement cap with the water adjuster for the in fil 40?
