Good filter, not broken
I bought this a few weeks ago and I really like it, if you provide enough swimming space 2.5 gallons is perfect for long fin bettas. Good product.

A must buy
Bought about a year and a half ago. Absolutely love this 2 1/2 gallon tank. It is sitting on my file cabinet with my betta. I was able to put in a sponge filter and the heater with some plants and he absolutely loves it. I’m not sure why the reviews are so negative. If you put in the tank what the fish needs, it is absolutely perfect. As a matter of fact, I’m going out to buy a second tank after I leave this review.

Not for long term
Definitely not for longevity. This is a temp aquarium. Ok for terrariums but not for fish.

Cute, but cracked after first use
We bought this on a Sunday for a single, very small goldfish. Cleaned and dried tank, used water treatment and allowed to come to appropriate temperature before placing fish in tank. Fish was happily swimming around Sunday evening and was dead by morning, as I noted another user had the same issue. As I was cleaning the tank, I noticed a large crack along bottom of tank. Tank was never dropped or treated roughly. Now can't return it as I don't have the receipt any longer as I wasn't expecting to need it. Save your money and buy something else. I should've paid more for a nice glass tank. I've also noted that you cannot buy replacement filters either. Waste of money all the way around and Petco customer service is non-existent.

Don’t buy, it leaks
About this about a year ago and it was pretty good until about 1 month ago when it started leaking. I would not recommend.

Not so great
I bought 2 of these in the last 6 weeks. After a month, the filters on both stopped working. I’ve had to buy new filters for both tanks.

Killed Fish
My new betta died in less than 24 hours after putting her in this tank. So disappointing and I'll be returning this tank.

Does the filter provide enough movement to oxygenate the water?
- It's very small and low power. Works in a pinch but might want to upgrade honestly

Is the filter supposed to push water out the top/how do you know if the filter is working?
- Our filters that came with this aquarium push the water out of the top. It's very quiet, but you should see it flowing from the top of the filter. Hope this helps.

What filter size??? It says medium but when I go to buy the exact M filter it says it’s LARGE compared to the filter. It’s more like a XS or small and I can’t find it in store at all.
