As everyone says this product kills betta fish. My son’s betta fish also got stuck in the top hole and died. Why they are still selling this product in light of the poor reviews and comments is frightening. It was recommended to me in-store, so I didn’t look at reviews but I guess I should have.

I bought this with the help of an employee who was knowledgeable about betta fish tanks. It had plants already growing and it works as a two in one if plants are attached. Hide away for my fish, and creates some oxygen

i bought this for my betta and found him stuck in the top hole. he’s seriously cut up and injured and i don’t know if he’ll make it. why say its for bettas if it just gets them hurt/killed. i’ve had him for a while no issues until i got this.

Bought this for my betta he was swimming around and got his head stuck in the hole it was so traumatizing it damaged his fins and his body. DONT BUY

I bought this shell because it was sold to me by an employee. I did so much research for my betta and did everything right. I was told this was the safest hide for my betta fish by AN EMPLOYEE. The first night of him exploring his tank, I came to my room after dinner to find him stuck inside of the hole. I had to use wire cutters to cut him out that’s how bad he was stuck. He had tried to swim up and out of it, injured himself and ripped his fins off in the process. I medicated him for 4 days as the poor thing was suffering. He ended up passing away. do not buy, it’s ridiculous they are still on shelf’s after all these terrible reviews.

I bought this a couple months ago for my male beta fish tank. Yesterday I woke up and found him stuck in one of the holes on the top of the shell and unfortunately he had passed away. DO NOT BUY THIS FOR BETTAS or any fish big enough that they could get stuck in the holes, I made this mistake and it cost my fish his life. This product should absolutely not be advertised for bettas!!

are the people complaining that the betta fish got his head stuck in the small hole that holds the product information card from Imaginium? or is there another hole in the coconut shell?

Hi, The customer complaints are about the pre-drilled drainage/ventilation holes at the top of the coconut shell, not a hole for a product card. Naturally curious betta fish try to swim through these tight openings and get stuck, leading to injuries or death. Many hobbyists recommend plugging these top holes with aquarium-safe moss or glue before placing the hideaway in a betta tank. Thanks.
