Many cite vet recommendations and long-term consistent use, noting their cats seem happier and more active. Customers express confidence in ingredient quality and nutritional integrity. Great option for genetically obese prone cats (ragdoll parents know)

We ended up with a gigantic cat that is half ragdoll. We fed him the same as the other cats, but he was almost twice a big. I started him on the light food when he switched from kitten food. It has really helped his weight issues, as they are completely a genetic anomaly. He is still big, but he looks and feels better. Great option, thank you.

I'm sorry but my cats are picky eaters and my one cat has a sensitive stomach. Every time I've tried to change her food she ends up with diarrhea so I have to stick to what she came with from the pet shop. But I'm pretty sure your food is very good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After giving my kitties this to try for the first time they gobbled it up like they had never been feed before. They keep trying to seek into the bag to enjoy more. Their coats have also become extra soft and shiny since using.

Questions

1 - 5 of 5 Questions

Is this less fiber than the perfect weight? my cats have been constipated on the perfect weight and get says they need less fiber, is this a good option?

  1. We are disappointed to hear of your experience. This is certainly an unusual report. The Science Diet Perfect Weight and the Science Diet Adult Light Cat Food have the same amount of fiber. We would like to get more information about this. When you get a moment, please give us a call at 1-800-445-5777 (M-F 8-5 CST) and reference ticket number (ticket number). Hill’s Pet Nutrition

I have a chubby (12.6 lbs), 8 mo kitten who currently eats Hills Indoor Kitten, about 3/4 cup/day. Kitten is a neutered male, happy, healthy and playful. Should I switch to Hills Adult Light or Adult Perfect Weight? Which do you recommend trying first?

  1. Always best to ask your vet for a recommendation for food choices. That said, personally I would first make a shift from kitten food to basic adult cat food as that would be a notable calorie reduction. Check the side of the bags to find the calories and compare. Also, see if you can reduce the amount of food offered daily.

do you have a dry cat food high in fiber and high in protein

  1. We would suggest our Science Diet Perfect Weight. It is higher in protein, fiber and contains a proprietary ingredient blend to help adult cats keep an ideal weight. Thank you for reaching out to us!

Cat Food Question

  1. Also, if you consider switching your pet's food, this is the product that is offered by Science Diet for older cats. Be sure to check with a vet, before changing the pet's diet, though. The food manufactor only is able to provide guides. Some kitties do not follow the guide, since they are unique. Your vet would better be able to advise the food diet. I have copied and pasted the food manufactor's description of the food, recommended for your pet, even though they do not actually know Tara, and probably should advise their buyers to check with their vet first, before making any food diet changes. Hill's Science Diet Active Longevity Senior Cat Food • DESCRIPTION • Protective nutrition for cats 7 to 10 years of age • Unique and powerful antioxidant blend for a strong immune system • Supports long-term heart & vital organ health • Nutrition to improve skin & coat in 30 days (vs. previously fed grocery foods) • Made in the USA Hill's Science Diet Active Longevity Senior Cat Food Growing older doesn't mean your cat has to lose vitality and a love for life. Hill's Science Diet Active Longevity Senior Cat Food is designed for cats 7 to 10 years old with support for kidneys and controlled levels of sodium for healthy organs. The Active Longevity formula also contains nutrition to improve skin and coat in 30 days. With chicken as the first ingredient, Active Longevity offers precisely balanced, easy-to-digest nutrition to help your older cat live a long, healthy life. I hope this helps. The food manufactor labels Tara a Senior, sorry. Maybe, Tara's Vet would be kinder with food recommendations, though.

Pellet size on science diet cat food

  1. Here it is 2018 and this latest bag has larger disc shaped peĺlets! So, you won't be happy. Not sure what else has changed, but my cats are licking their bowls clean since this food arrived!
