Loved by all the cats in my house (surprisingly)

My cats love the canned combo food (despite z/d having the texture of sad Jello). I have never had an issue with it in my house, and am very happy it exists. Sad it is so expensive because it does price it out of range for many families with animals that may have cats with IBD or other reasons to have hydrolyzed protein diets, and also we know so many older cats have kidney disease. It's a great product though if you can afford it.

Life-Saver for a Senior Cat with Kidney Disease and Chicken Allergies

My 14-year-old cat, Wyatt, has both kidney disease and a chicken allergy, which makes finding an appropriate food extremely challenging. He had been doing well for years on Apoquel and Atopica, so when my veterinarian prescribed Hill's c/d kidney diet, I trusted the recommendation and didn't think to double-check the ingredients since they were aware of his allergy history. Unfortunately, after a couple of weeks on the c/d food, I noticed Wyatt had started licking himself raw again, which is one of his classic allergy symptoms. Needless to say, I was pretty frustrated. After a call to the vet, they recommended either Hill's Prescription Diet k/d + z/d Kidney + Skin/Food Sensitivities or Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Multifunction Renal Support + Hydrolyzed Protein. Neither option is inexpensive, but I chose the Hill's k/d + z/d because it comes in both wet and dry formulas. Wyatt prefers his meals mixed together, and the combination also makes it easy for me to hide the medications he needs to take every day. Thankfully, Wyatt is a great eater and will eat just about anything you put in front of him. He cleans his bowl as thoroughly as possible every meal. The wet food is quite thick, almost glue-like in texture, so it can be a little messy, but that hasn't slowed him down one bit. What I appreciate most is that this food addresses both of Wyatt's medical issues at the same time. It is difficult to find a diet formulated specifically for cats with kidney disease and food sensitivities. Even better, Wyatt is eating well, maintaining his weight, and enjoying his meals. After reading so many stories from owners struggling to get their kidney cats to eat, I consider us very fortunate. My only wish is that there were additional flavor options to provide more variety. Still, I am incredibly grateful that Hill's created a food that works for my sensitive senior boy. For anyone managing both kidney disease and food allergies in their cat, this food has been a game-changer for us. ❤️🐾
