Customers say

Customers overwhelmingly praise this prescription food for resolving digestive issues in cats with IBD, pancreatitis, and sensitive stomachs. Most report dramatic improvements including vomiting stopping, stool consistency normalizing, and previously picky eaters eagerly finishing meals. Reviewers highlight vet recommendations and clinical formulation as key trust factors. Many note their cats' energy and coat improved alongside digestive relief. A few mention the high price, and several report cats eventually needing flavor rotation, but most consider results worth the cost.

Saving my dog's life one can at a time.

This food was prescribed by my vet after my dog was diagnosed with Cushing's and pancreatitis. It's not cheap, but his stomach issues are no longer present, and he's absolutely obsessed with the food. I mix it with a little bit of water so it fills him up more. I don't particularly love the smell, but luckily I'm not the one who's eating it. His symptoms of Cushing's disease are at bay thanks to this food and the supplements my vet recommended. This is a great brand and great product. I will continue to buy for my little guy.

Help with urine problems

My cat was having problems going to the bathroom. She stopped using the litter box, so we brought her to the vet. She had crystals, so the vet switched her to this, and her problem cleared within a week.

My food snob LOVES this food!

My senior cat was prescribed this food because he has Pancreatitis. I was weary at first because he is an extreme food snob. I was directed to just start feeding him this food without a transition period because of the medical condition. Needless to say, I was astounded to see him dive right in and eat almost all of it! He loves the wet variety too! So very thankful for this huge win!

My boy is 13 years old and and started having issues using the litter box and a little blood in the urine. His vet recommended this food and it has made a big difference. Within a couple weeks he was back to normal and I haven’t seen any problems since. He loves the chicken flavor and eats it without any hesitation. His energy seems better too and he’s acting much more like himself, which is a huge relief. I can’t put a price on his health and piece of mind. I’m so thankful to see him happy and comfortable and doing well again.

No more Diarrhea

My cat had chronic diarrhea so the vet put him on the I/D dry food for 10 days. My cat is really picky and wouldn't eat anything except this specific dry food, but he ate this food no problem. When I switched him back to the old food after 10 days he was pawing at the Hlls I/D bag wanting more. The vet called it "The Bland Diet" but I guess it wasn't really that bland lol. He started to have diarrhea again so the vet told me to just give him the bland diet indefinitely. That is what he eats now, with the wet food, and I put Purina probiotic packets on his food whenever I fill it which he loves. He is also a long hair cat so the diarrhea was a mess to clean up before. No more diarrhea. No more getting my carpet cleaner out. Highly recommend if your cat has diarrhea.

I bought this for my picky Siamese who has been having bouts of pancreatitis, she took to it right away, and even after a month of eating it, she continues to enjoy it. Plus, no pancreatitis 🤞🏻

Questions

Csn this cause gas issues? My kitty has CKD early stages keeps vomiting so vet put him on hills digestive care i/d. I feel like he is getting smelly. But on the positive side no more throwing up and diarrhea.

  1. I know it is expensive but my cat adjusted to it and now she is thriving. We tried to mix it with regular food and come off of it at one point and she immediately started getting sick again.. I will have her on this until she can't eat any more... I am a believer in it.

What is the actual fat percentage?

Does hills I/d promote weight gain in cats with sensitive stomach issues?

    1. It did the trick for my cat. She got very thin and mostly slept. In March of 2020 the vet ran hundreds of dollars in tests and determined that she had cancer but couldn't tell exactly what kind. We asked for a prescription so we could continue to give her this food since at least she didn't throw it up. It took a while but this year she has gained weight and is back to boxing the dogs ears. Totally back to normal. I plan to keep her on it.

What is the phosphorus content in this food?

    1. Thank you for your question. Prescription Diet i/d dry cat food has 0.88% phosphorous on a dry matter basis. Hill's Pet Nutrition
