Customers say

Customers overwhelmingly praise this food for dramatically improving their cats' digestive health, with most reporting resolved diarrhea, normalized stools, and renewed vitality within days or weeks. Many describe cats transitioning from chronic digestive issues to firm, regular bowel movements, with several noting complete relief after years of suffering. Beyond digestion, reviewers report healthier coats, regained weight, and increased energy. Veterinarian recommendations frequently drove adoption, and customers express deep gratitude for the life-changing results. A few cats refuse the food, and some mention price concerns, though most consider it worthwhile given the dramatic improvements.

Great product BUT you need to have this available in a larger bag as well. Having to feed multiple cats and only be able to buy an 8.5# bag made me switch to Purina EN because of the convenience of the larger bag availability

Questions

1 - 7 of 7 Questions

This Gastrointestinal Biome formula is a great product and has helped digestive issues in my cat since starting this diet. However, my cat had enjoyed the wet can version too and am wondering if this product will come back to being available.

Why do you need to add synthetic V-K (menadione) to this food?   This substance has some research indicating a possible negative health consequence.  Most cat food manufacturers only add it to fish based foods.

Is it still possible to buy Hill's® Prescription Diet® Gastrointestinal Biome Feline Chicken & Vegetable Stew (canned wet food). I cannot find it anywhere. Thanks.

      1. Thank you for your question. At the moment we are experiencing low stock levels on a limited number of products, including Prescription Diet® Gastrointestinal Biome Feline Chicken & Vegetable Stew due to an increase in demand. We understand how frustrating this can be so we have increased our production to replenish these products as quickly as possible. Please don’t worry, we are making food as fast as we can!

If I give this to my cat, do I need to discontinue the wet foods I give him?

      1. Thank you for you inquiry. We would not recommend feeding your pet more than one product at a time. Our products are formulated to be 100% nutritionally complete and address your pet's special needs. When you mix Hill's products together or mix another brand of pet food with our products, you may minimize these benefits. However, if your veterinarian has recommended mixing diets due to your pets special medical condition, please follow their advice. Hill's Pet Nutrition

How many packs of one box of 8.5lbs? Also may i have the size one box?

      1. Thank you for your question. Prescription Diet Gastrointestinal Biome Feline dry food comes in a 4 lb. and 8.5 lb bag. Hill's Pet Nutrition

Is this food okay for cats with constipation also? I have a cat who has IBD with diarrhea and one that is always constipated.

      1. My young cat had hard, dry poops, sometimes with a piece or two outside his litterbox. He has been eating thus food for a couple weeks and his poop seems to be better. Inside the box and not dry like before. He was eating all wet food before and countless brands but his poop was still hard until we tried this.

I would like to know if possible if the food is still working for the person who left the review cause I have a cat w/the exact same symptoms?

      1. Not the reviewer, but I have an 11 year old cat that had the very same issue. We tried just about everything until our vet suggested this food. We've used it for the last 9 months. It took her a week or so to get used to the taste (we slowly transitioned the old food out). We noticed the difference in her stool after about a day. It's a little pricey, but it beats getting up in the middle of the night (every night) to clean diarrhea out of the carpet!
