Terrible customer service

Door works well, have had for some time. The exterior sensor seemed to be experiencing an issue, working intermittently, the interior sensor was fine. I purchased a replacement sensor array and installed, and then neither sensor worked. I called to troubleshoot with customer service. The guy was rude, interrupted every sentence I attempted to get out of my mouth and tried to tell me that the problem was ALL SIX of my collars (with brand new batteries). When I pointed out that this was impossible, he said "Well I don't know what you want me to tell you, that's all I got for you". When I asked him to stop interrupting me so I could get through my sentence he hung up. Took me 9 tries over two days to get them to even answer the phone.

I purchased this door system 11 years ago. For the most part, it has worked very well. A few years ago, the button that will open the door on demand when you push it, failed. Ok. No big deal. I purchased a backup battery for just in case. Last night, the belt failed, so the door won't open. Sensor and motor still working. The one drawback I found was a negative when I needed to purchase a couple more sensor tags, was that the more expensive ones were the only option. And the batteries required, were modified to have the polarity on one side of the battery, and the purchase cost was very high. And only those batteries will work with the newer tags. I couldn't just go and purchase the usual CR2430-size batteries for the sensor tags from another seller. And a battery lasts about 3 months. It can be a pricey expense every three months if you have multiple dogs.

This door is equivalent to a $500 hole in the wall. It is so inconsistent that the features that make it appealing can't be used. I purchased this door so I could let my dog outside when I was away from home, I can't do that because of how unreliable it is. You're better off just buying a normal flap dog door.

I bought this pet door a year ago and am pleased overall . My review would have been 5 stars, except the fob that hangs on the collar ihas undesirable flaws. It only has the capacity to know a pet has the fob on and is not specific. It is like all car owners having exactly the same key. Case in point: a new neighbor moved in and installed the same one for her cats....I have an epipen for cat allergies and this is the reason I purchased this door. I do not want to die as a result of an unwanted cat entering my home. I would like to suggest a microchip reader. It would be helpful to move away from the fob on the collar and in the direction of a pet microchip reader built within the pet door.

Dog loves it but presentation is misleading

Dog loves it but presentation is misleading. It does not show that it needs to be plugged into a power supply or you need to purchase an additional battery pack. But after spending the additional hundred dollars for the battery pack it allows the dog to easily go in and out, but remember to change the battery out every two weeks or the dog will get locked outside in the middle of the night

Yes, I recommend this product.

Door is great - but the collar is HORRIBLE

I had one of these doors for 10 years. It broke once and I sent it in for repairs. The door is awesome but the cheap horrible device doesn't hook to a dog colar and had to be put on with a zip tie. Very bad design and sucks to replace their batteries which HAVE to be purchased from them. You'd think they could make a better color. We have two dogs and it got expensive when the cheap plastic breaks. Make sure to have an extra set of batteries.

Yes, I recommend this product.

It's great. However, it fails. Sometimes it opens and dogs are no where near it. Other times it won't open and they are right there trying to get out.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 10 of 36 Questions

I see mixed responses on here. If I have issues with your your product how do you fix it? How fast do you respond to your consumer issues?

question is the Pet Door Info says" For "For Door and Wall Installations" so would I have to purchase anything extra for this Pet Door to be mounted to my glass sliding door

does this door include an ac adapter? I will not purchase another dog door that doesn't come with one.

Does this product have a programmable timer so I can set the time for the door lock and to open or close at a certain time. For a night curfew so my dog isn’t out barking at 2 o’clock in the morning. And an a.m. timer so the dog can go out in the morning.

How di I remove the battery?

We are looking to purchase a dog door that can be installed on a brick wall large with flaps not electronic is there a product in your store that you may suggest to us thank you

Will this work to keep an indoor cat inside

              1. I would assume so, unless you have a cat that can fit under your dog and would go outside at the same time as your dog. Or if your dog goes close enough to the door to unlock it but doesn't actually go out and your cat does instead.

Can you control the locking mechanism remotely?

When they say “and wall installation” does that mean someone will come and install this for us?

                1. No, that means that you can also install this door into a wall rather than a door.

Does the door slide up into the unit or is it a flap?

                1. From looking at the picture, unless the flap is invisible, it looks to me like it slides up. They have other versions that have a flap.
