Review this Product
Customers say
Customers overwhelmingly praise this deShedding tool as transformative, with most reporting dramatic reductions in household fur and visible improvements within days. Many describe removing enough hair to fill a two-gallon jug, particularly from thick, double-coated cats. A standout benefit is how cats previously resistant to grooming now actively enjoy brushing sessions, sitting calmly for extended periods or seeking out brush time. Customers call it easy, painless, and a must-have purchase. A few note the tool can remove whiskers if used too aggressively, and some mention handle ergonomics or reduced effectiveness on short-haired cats. Overall, most consider it the best grooming investment for cat owners.

Questions
Cat is a feral outdoor cat that adopted me years ago. She won't go to anyone but me and runs from everyone else. She will sit on my lap and be brushed, but on one side only. She has become quite matted and one side severely. Recommendations?
- It sounds like you've built a special bond with her! Since the matting has become severe, we recommend consulting a veterinarian or professional groomer, as heavily matted coats can sometimes require specialized care to remove safely. If cost or transportation is a concern, you may also want to check with local animal shelters, rescue groups, or community cat organizations, as some may be able to help connect you with low-cost grooming resources in your area. Once the mats have been addressed, regular brushing can help keep her coat healthy and reduce future shedding and matting.

What’s the difference between your large and small brushes. My cats still 6 months old but still growing so would it be ok to get the the large one.
- The small is recommended for cats weighing less than 10 lbs. The large is recommended for cats weighing more than 10 lbs. So that we can answer your other FURminator questions please contact us at PetSupport@spectrumbrands.com.

When should you replace your Furminator tool?. I have an American Shorthair Black Cat who is very large and I have been using the tool for 1 year. It amazing me how much hair I get when I brush the cat but I'm sure it was more when it was newer.
- Great question! The tool should be replaced if any of the teeth become broken or bent. Your pets skin oils and flakes can build up on the tool. We suggest cleaning it with mild soap and water occasionally to clean the tool. For more help contact FURminator at PetSupport@spectrumbrands.com. We are happy to help!

What is the difference between the long- and short-hair versions of this product? The pictures look exactly the same. I have Birman cats which have medium-length fur, so knowing the difference will help me choose the correct product.
- Thank you for asking! The teeth on the long hair version are longer to make it work better on long hair. If the majority of your dogs hair is 2 inches long or more we suggest you get the long hair tool. For more help call FURminator at PHGAmazon@spectrumbrands.com. We are happy to help!
