Fill your clean litter box with 3-4 inches of Fresh Step litter. Pour litter no more than a few inches from the box OR keep the carton close to the box when pouring litter. Litter quickly forms a clump around liquid waste. Remove clumps and solids daily, and dispose of in trash. Do not flush. Add more Fresh Step clumping cat litter to refresh your litter box. Maintain level of litter at 3-4 inches.

Toxoplasmosis Warning: We would like to remind our customers, especially pregnant women and immunosuppressed persons, that cat feces can sometimes transmit a disease called toxoplasmosis. Therefore, always remember to wash hands thoroughly after handling used cat litter. For further information, consult your doctor.

Reviewers consistently highlight tight clumping and easy scooping as defining advantages, making daily maintenance simple. The product is especially celebrated in multi-cat households, where customers report it manages heavy use effectively. Many appreciate the fresh, pleasant scent and low-dust formula. It's ok

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The fresh step extreme clump cat litter is ok. I did find that it clumped well and the freeze scent was nice. But I did not like the dust when filling the litter box and I found he tracked more litter on the floor. Sorry not for us.

Was the best. Then they “improved” it.

The new formula does not clump well and leaves a strong ammonia odor. The clumps in my litter robot are all wet and reek of ammonia. This only started happening with the new “improved” box of litter. Clumps are so wet (and smelly) they now stick to the rubber in the litter robot and I have to unstick them during a cycle. It’s disgusting.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good cat litter. Easy to scoop due to extreme clumping. It did leave dust on my cats feet after using the litter box. I like the fresh scent. My cats seemed to enjoy it as well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Fresh Step Extreme Clump cat litter is overall a very good litter. The Febreze fragrance it is scented with smells so nice! It’s not too strong and not too weak. It does a great job at covering up any odors. The clumping worked well, and I didn’t experience any crumbling. When pouring the litter, I noticed quite a bit of dust flying everywhere. It was also difficult for me to lift the box as it’s a bit heavy at 22 pounds. Overall, the litter works well and my only complaints are the dust and the weight of the box.

Extreme clumping cat litter!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Extreme Clumping cat litter from Fresh Step definitely lives up to its name. It forms tight clumps that don't fall apart when scooping which is great! It makes scooping the litter box a lot easier. It is a clay litter so it isn't lightweight and the box is fairly heavy. The handle on top helps make it easier to pour though. It did a great job at odor control and I have 6 cats, so that's a big deal for me. The only issue I had with this litter is that it produces quite a bit of dust when pouring it in the litter box. It doesn't claim to be a low dust formula, but the dust cloud is pretty big regardless. I have both automatic and regular litter boxes and I only use this in the regular one so it doesn't kick up dust every time the automatic ones start their cycle. Overall it is a great clay litter that clumps tightly and doesn't get tracked on the floor much. The odor blocking is great, too!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is great litter! I'm so impressed with everything about it. I really like how this litter looks. The size of litter is great. I really like that there's no dust when I pour it into the litter box or when my cat uses it. The clumping is great. I love that the clumps are big and easy to scoop out. There's never any tiny clumping, which makes cleaning so much easier for me. I will definitely continue using this litter, and I know my cat agrees.

How often should Fresh Step Extreme Mountain Spring litter be changed and the litter box cleaned? I could not find directions on the box. Can you please send detailed use instructions by email?

We do litter box changes every week. But scoop every day. This is a 2 cat household also if that helps.
