Customers say

Customers overwhelmingly praise this fly spray for its natural, water-based formula and gentle effectiveness on sensitive horses. Many report their horses tolerate it without skin reactions, hives, or distress—a stark contrast to harsh chemical alternatives. Reviewers consistently highlight the mild, pleasant scent that horses accept willingly, with no oily residue and noticeably softer coats. While most find it effective at repelling flies and gnats, many note protection lasts 2-3 hours and requires reapplication during peak fly season. Despite shorter duration than synthetic options, customers accept this trade-off for safety and peace of mind. A few report limited effectiveness against heavy infestations in extreme climates, yet most continue using it due to its gentle profile.

The fly spray actually works for days like it says

Originally posted on SCBT

It’s so effective against Louisiana mosquitoes that I use it on both my sensitive-skinned horse and myself before riding through the woods. As long as I apply it twice a day, it works great—and since it’s water-based, it doesn’t cause my horse to overheat. He’s pretty particular, and this is the only spray he’ll actually tolerate!

Works great! Can see the flys leave them alone right after applying!!

Bought my mistake, never tried this brand so I took a chance. The flies stayed off my horse only while the spay went on wet. Once it dried, it stopped working and the flies were back, so basically lasted a minute or two.

I purchased this fly spray due to it being water based. I used an oil based fly spray last year that ended up burning some of my more sensitive horses in the hot summer months because of the oil base and the sun. This fly spray was definitely better to use on my thin skinned Thoroughbreds as far as sunburns/skin reactions go, they all responded well to my using it. The only downside being, that it didn't seem to last very long. It works long enough for a short ride/work session, but after about 30 minutes it seems like the bugs are back on them again. I do like the smell of this fly spray, it doesn't smell "chemically" like some can and has a pleasant fragrance, I just wish it lasted longer.

Our new welsh pony has very sensitive skin, which we learned after using a stronger spray on him which created hot spots and hair loss. I read a lot of reviews and decided to try this one, and it hasn’t bothered him at all. It doesn’t last more than a day but it’s better than injuring his skin.

For the last five or so years, I was using UltraShield Green, but this year it didn't seen to work as well anymore. I'm not sure if they changed the formula or what. So I tried this one. And it works pretty well! Nice spray handle and smell too.
