Depending on the species of Milksnake, some level of humidity is desired (for ex: a Honduran Milk will need higher humidity than a Pueblan Milk). The species from more arid locales get their humidity needs usually met in their hides or burrows; while tropical species experience more relative humidity exposure from the entirety of their habitat. Neither are particularly suited to direct moisture contact for prolonged periods of time. In other words, the substrate should not be wet and inescapable. Monitor with hygrostats or hydrometers, and always pay attention to scale health and activity levels.
