DO NOT BUY this product. If I could give it ZERO stars, I would. When you purchase a product that says "offers a safe space for your pet while traveling" - it's easy to believe that. You assume a product has been tested and vetted. You assume Petco would carry only products that meet certain standards. In my case, this carrier fell WAY SHORT. It says I can attach a photo, abmy carrier that has a hole chewed through the mesh. I had my two litter mate syrian hamsters in the small carrier. I was traveling 5 hours, away from home for 2 weeks, and this carrier was right by my legs in the driver seat. My hamsters are sweet and lovey. I did not notice that they chewed through the carrier and went missing until I made a stop and was checking on everyone. I am devastated. I have been spending nights in the truck, leaving out treats, I have torn apart my vehicle. I cannot imagine where they went... how scared they must be... or if they are suffering. THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE PULLED FROM SHELVES. I thought maybe I missed something... maybe this wasn't for hamsters. Nope... it says it's perfect for hamsters. It says it keeps them safe. This not only cost me peace of mind, but the lives of two beautiful and much-loved creatures. The cage... the special diet from Etsy... the toys. This wasn't a misstep on my part. I worry and care for my animals more than I care for myself. This was just complete trust in a product I bought off the shelf. Never in a million years did I think losing my hamsters would be the final chapter. I hope this review helps someone else from losing their hamster. From the tears and heartbreak. From working night after night after night, with no sign of life. Do not buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PULL FROM SHELVES. Unless you switch to a metal screen, this carrier is NOT safe. It is chewable and not escape-proof.
