DIRECTIONS

We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet's digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

I have used Eukanuba Lamb and Rice for over 25 years with at 50 dogs with no problems. I was a breeder and used the food even under the Iams name. It was a great food and I recommend it to everyone. When I went to reorder this time I found out I had to order a new replacement, Adult LP Small & Medium Breed as the old food was discontinued. Granted, I should have known better as the price was lowered and the size was increased to 33 lbs.. Besides using lamb meal instead of lamb as the first ingredient, now soy was the third instead of chicken by products. I have two Puli's and after I started using the new food their stools got soft and the changed to diarrhea. Then the one started vomiting.and had severe dehydration. Had her to the vet and with blood work and an ultra sound ( +$1,000 ). She was diagnosed with severe pancreatitis. So was the other one. Unknown to me some dogs are allergic to soy. and apparently mine are. I did manage to get a bag of the old lamb and rice and they are fine on it. I should have known better but Eukanuba should been more forthright in making the change
