Customers say

Customers overwhelmingly praise this cat litter for its low-dust formula, reporting significant improvements in respiratory health for sensitive cats. Many describe dramatic reductions in sneezing, coughing, and allergy symptoms, calling it life-changing for asthmatic or immunocompromised pets. Reviewers also commend its superior clumping ability and reduced tracking. Some note weaker odor control as a trade-off for the dust reduction, and a few mention the higher cost compared to standard litters. Despite these minor drawbacks, most customers consider it worthwhile for their cats' health.

HATEFUL Stuff!! SUPER Dusty and sticks in the box

HATEFUL Stuff!! SUPER Dusty and sticks in the box like concrete! I don't know how they can call this 'respiratory relief because I pouring it creates an awful cloud and it just keeps on giving with the dust.

No, I do not recommend this product.

less dust, more smell

Four stars for less dust, two stars for odor control. One of my cats has been having respiratory/sneezing issues so our vet recommended this litter. We had used other Dr. Elsey's litters in the past but switched for some reason, which I'm now thinking is due to the lack of odor control. Yes, the litter is less dusty, it clumps okay but not great, and needs to have an additive to keep my laundry room from smelling like poo. We'll continue to use it as it has seemed to help but overall I'm not super jazzed by this litter's performance in all other areas.

No, I do not recommend this product.

ZERO odor control

ZERO odor control. I was really hopeful that this might help one of my cat's congestion but I simply can't live in a house that smells so horribly. The smell knocks me over when I walk in and I clean constantly

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great litter for cats with respiratory issues

Megg

I have a senior cat who's very picky with litter. I have to be particular with what she uses because of her respiratory issues and fhv. I was using paper pellets for a while and my cat was ok with it but started pooping outside the box in defiance. Then I started finding plastic in the PAPER litter. I noticed the litter started crumbling and causing her issues to flair up, runny eyes, clumping and losing fur, scratching her ears etc. I figured the litter was an issue since her food isnt causing any problems and shes been on it for a while now. After a bunch of research I decided to try Dr Elseys and I AM SO GLAD I DID! My cat is now using the litterbox for both, there's no smell AT ALL and no tracking. I suggest getting a shallower litterbox or a low open front so it's easier for cats to get out of instead of jumping and getting the litter everywhere. This is the best litter I've ever gotten for any of my cats and especially my 11 year old!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Did not help my cats respiratory issues

Regu Elsey’s is the only letter that doesn’t give my cat respiratory issues. I tried this one thinking it might even be better, but it gave her respiratory issues so I went back to the regular. I felt like it had a lot more dust.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 2 of 2 Questions

What is the difference between this litter and Dr. Elsey's Ultra Clumping (the one with the blue color label)?

Does this litter have a smaller grain to it - like sand- or more course like other litters?

    1. A little more coarse, but I think not as coarse as something like Swheat Scoop. Our cat likes it.
