Review this Product
Customers say
Customers overwhelmingly praise this water fountain for encouraging cats to drink significantly more water than from traditional bowls, with many describing it as a game-changer for hydration. The filtration system earns strong satisfaction, with filters keeping water clean and lasting a month or longer with regular cleaning. Reviewers consistently commend the quiet, leak-free operation and easy filter replacement. A small number report pump reliability issues after weeks or months of use, and a few cats initially resisted the fountain. Overall, most customers consider it a valuable addition to pet care routines.

Questions
how often do the filters need to be changed?
- the cheapest way is to use a three stage under sink filter for all water usage, then just use cotton / coconut filters for the fountain. over the long term you cannot beat the cost! as it is less expensive than bottled water. there are other methods but too long to explain, but a web search would find them just as well.

Does this filter fit a Wonder Creature water fountain?
Do these filters have hard plastic behind them? Those will not fit my catit fountain but I am having trouble finding the old style filters.
- They have the hard plastic base with the mesh over top. I use them for the Catit Flower Pet Fountain. I recommend searching for the fountain you have and from there, locating the correct filters.

Are these filters the soft ones? Or do they have a plastic base?
- Jane, I suspect that someone at Petco did not enter the correct info into the web page. It is my experience that there are many discrepancies or incomplete info on Petco's website. (Their customer service is off shore based). You are correct about contactIng Catit about this. Their filters for this fountain are intended to filter out debris and control bacteria, not soften water as you say.

- It runs all the time.

ION EXCHANGE - does this add additional Sodium to the drinking water?
- No, it adds nothing to the water you use.

What is the material of the bowl
- It is plastic, which I was disappointed about ! The pic looked like metal so I bought it but it was plastic. As vets, you world think they'd know that's a "no-no" ! (Fat lip disease...)
