This is the best dog food. We have had Yorkies ( since passed) most of our lives all rescued and all have gastric or allergy issues. This food was a life saver. We recently rescued another dog Biewer Terrier and we tried her on several different foods and after much research and vet bills we discovered she to has gastric issue so once again we tried the tried and true food from our previous dogs and she loves it! It has made a world of difference! She loves the food and has now started putting on much needed weight! So I wanted to write this review to say thank you!

My dog absolutely loves the Blue Buffalo BLUE Basics Grain-Free Lamb and Potato recipe! The ingredients are high quality and easy to digest, which is great for dogs with sensitive stomachs. I noticed her coat looks shinier and she has more energy since switching to this food. I appreciate that it’s grain-free and doesn’t have any artificial flavors or fillers. The packaging is also sturdy and reseals well to keep the food fresh.

Decent ingredients for dogs with allergies. My dog has protein allergies so this was effective in stopping reactions. Unfortunately she's picky and decided she didn't like it anymore, so had to move to a new one.

Very tasty and healthy, love texture. Definitely gonna buy them again. Scent is really good not very strong but lovely. Packing is perfect to traveling

Why do they not offer a 4 lb. bag for small breeds? My 6 lb. maltese eats 2 tablespoons of dry food a day. A 4 lb. bag lasts 4 months. I have to throw away 2/3 of the 11 lb. bag after 4 months.

Blue Buffalo Care Team

We truly appreciate your feedback and will share it with our team.

We feed our dog a combination of homemade and kibble - the basics lamb and potato for small breed. Food is moderately priced and affordable for a small dog. Does not stink nor give him bad breath. Our dog gets annual bloodwork done and between our home cooked breakfast and this Blue kibble lunch he is in perfect health at 11 years old. Blue is extremely calorie dense so your dog may appear to be hungry sooner but it’s just less volume consumed. As with always, exercise caution when introducing a new food

I have a small dog that had stomach issues with whatever she ate. We have a strict rule with her that she got no table food due to it making it worse. So when I got my new puppy 2 years ago we switched to Blue Buffalo Basics Skin & Stomach Care, Grain Free Natural Adult Small Breed Dry Dog Food, Lamb & Potato and my older girl's stomach issues completely stopped. I will not go back. We now have 2 new puppies that will get the same food. I cant say enough good things about this! (lol no more messes to clen up :) )

Our frenchie has been experiencing some really bad allergies w/hots spots, swollen eyes and bumps. We didn’t want to medicate. It’s been a miserable year for him. Beef, chicken, turkey and Salmon - our last resort. Then Someone recommended simple lamb mix, researched and I found this brand. What a difference this has made! He eats it dry sometimes, wet others but gobbles it right up. He likes the size, he digests it well. His skin is amazing, bumps are gone and he’s a happy camper. Thank you. Great product! Just one request, LOVE to have more lamb options or treats! 😉
