Appropriate choice with any dog with allergies! As a bulldog owner myself, I am constantly trying new foods to see which ones agree with her food sensitivities and this one is a great choice! Healthy source of protein and a unique choice with alligator!

Packaging: Sturdy, well-sealed bag that keeps the food fresh and easy to store. Ingredients: Novel protein source like alligator is great for dogs with sensitivities, high-quality and thoughtfully selected ingredients. Texture: Kibble has a good size and texture, easy for dogs to chew and digest. Smell: Mild and not too strong, more pleasant compared to many other dog foods. Value: Higher price point but justified by the quality ingredients and specialized formula.

My guy Scout has been on Science diet z/d for years. Well they changed their recipe and added many new ingredients one if which is coconut oil. I did an extensive allergy test and he’s highly allergic to coconut oil. He got itchy again, flaky skin, and a double ear infection. I went on the hunt and found blue buffalo had this dog food. I was skeptical of alligator, but it is one of the few prescription foods that doesn’t have coconut oil. Scout LOVES it!! He’s doing great on it. I’m praying they don’t change their recipe.

So far so good, my dog didn't seem interested the first few days of transition but the last week he has been finishing his bowl within 5 minutes of eating. I do notice he wants more but not sure if it's because it's not filling enough or he likes it. Hope it works for allergies as prescribed, so far the itching has reduced a bit but as the weeks continue I will monitor for improvement. The smell is kinda weird but my dog likes it so I suppose it's just weird for me.

Our dog has been a finicky water and had digestive issues The entire time we have had him. His stomach is doing much better since we had added in the novel alligator and he loves it!!

I must put my toy poodle on a hydrolized HA or Novel protein diet. She doesn’t like the Hydrolized food. I have the option of a novel protein diet. Do dogs like the alligator? I must find something that she will eat. Her life depends on it. Thankyou

I actually bought both, first the hydrolyzed salmon kibble to ease her back out of the GI issues she was having and then introducing the novel/alligator kibble. she loved both and tolerated both perfectly, but i'm going to keep her on the alligator diet because it seems less "special" and something I can put my other dog on, as well. HE is suddenly pickier and doesn't attack it, but if I remove his bowl then at the next meal he scarfs it down, no problem. It seems to get him to eat as needed, rather than non-stop as he does with other foods. This one, he sometimes leaves a bit in the bowl, so he's full and good to go. And if he barely eats breakfast and it's dinner time, I just crumble on a piece of fruit or whatever and he attacks. So, bottom line, my sick and usually picky eater loves the alligator, and my usually not picky eater is more finicky with it but does like it. (keep in mind that he also got spoiled with the home-cooked food I was making for a couple of years due to the sickly picky dog, and now kibble might seem beneath him hahahha)
