Instructions For Use: A complete list of installation, set up guide and important safety instructions is included with your purchase. Be sure to read and follow all safety precautions and keep instructions on hand for future reference. Set-up Guide: Check filter for any signs of shipping damage. If damaged, do not operate and return. Remove new cartridge from bag and rinse under cold water to remove carbon dust. Install cartridge as shown, (see complete instructions included with package). Biological cartridge holster and cartridge must face forward. Install filter on tank as shown (see packaging). Fill tank with water to 1" from tank's top edge. Plug power cord into household receptacle. Filter will begin to draw water from tank, pump water into filter through cartridge and return it to tank. Top off aquarium water level to outside bottom edge of the top frame.

Is there any way to get an extender tube for the filter? The one that is on it is too short for the tank.

What is the length width and height of the 30 with and without the extension?
- The part that it goes in inside the tank is a cube that is about 2” x 2.5” 2.5” and the extension tube is about .75” x 5” and extends up to 9” the filter body that goes outside the tank is about 2.5 x 9” x 9”. I hope this information help you

Just purchased this on yesterday brandnew tank is filled with water when plugged in noise is too lound not sure whats going on taking it back today
- Add water to the filter, also be sure the water label is close to the top. No have empty. Also be sure the filter parts are all in place. When everything is in place, the filtration process should be smooth and quiet.

Hi team! I have a few questions. First, can you use a reusable bio ball bag? Second, can you use this safely for axolotls? Third, will this filter control ammonia for a 20-gallon tank?
- 1. If you were to completely remove the media it comes with, you could fit a small amount of bio-media in the filter. 2. The intake tube is extendable/retractable, so you could theoretically keep it retracted and away from the tank floor. I would still use a pre-filter cover for safety. 3. No filter on the planet controls ammonia. It is the media you use, the maintenance you perform, and the care that you take of your companions that will be the deciding factor on how much ammonia is present in your tank.

Does the tank have to be filled all the way with water? looking for a good and quiet filter for my turtle tank but it's not filled all the way
- The directions say fill the tank up to 1" from the top, not all the way. The unit is just noisy, right out of the box; I can hear it 15 feet away, and I have hearing damage. Priming it makes no difference, removing the lid makes no difference. NOT happy with it. This is a Quietflow 30 LED PRO by the way.

Is this too big for a 20 gallon tank? I’m looking to upgrade my aqueon 10
- For a 20 gallon tank we generally recommend at QuietFlow 10. If you want to go with a stronger filter, we suggest that you move up to the QuietFlow 20 (for aquariums up to 30 gallons), not all the way to the QuietFlow 30 (for aquariums up to 45 gallons). Is the flow rate adjustable? Can I turn it down during feeding time?
