Customers say

Customers overwhelmingly praise this flea treatment for its exceptional effectiveness, with most reporting complete flea elimination within days of application. Many highlight years of reliable use across multiple pets, noting it outperforms competing products. Reviewers consistently mention rapid results, with fleas disappearing quickly and protection lasting weeks or months. The product earns strong loyalty for its ease of application and veterinarian endorsement. A small group reports limited effectiveness or flea persistence, with a few suggesting possible resistance, though these experiences represent a minority compared to widespread positive results.

I’ve used Advantage II for my dog and it’s been a reliable option for keeping fleas under control. The dosage is simple since each tube is already measured based on your dog’s weight, so there’s no guessing involved. Just make sure you choose the correct size for your dog. The instructions are easy to follow, and applying it between the shoulder blades only takes a few seconds. It absorbs pretty well without leaving a huge greasy mess, although the application spot can feel a little oily for the first day. In terms of effectiveness, I noticed it started working quickly and helped keep fleas under control when used consistently each month. The packaging is also convenient because each dose is individually sealed and easy to open without making a mess. Overall, it’s an easy product to use and gives me peace of mind knowing my dog is protected.

I get so tired of people saying that Advantage doesn't work. First, look up info about fleas, and their life cycle. All stages of the flea must come in contact with advantage for it to work. So you put it on your pet, which kills all fleas currently living on the pet. But what about all the ones living in bedding, furniture, carpet etc in your house? Some advantage crystals will drop throughout the house, but basically the fleas in the house must jump on your pet to be killed. This is why people start complaining after about 2 weeks, that Advantage doesnt work. The fleas on your pet already layed eggs in your house, before you treated the pet. Now the eggs have hatched and matured. So they jump on your pet for a snack, and get zapped by the Advantage. But maybe they already layed eggs in the house, and the cycle continues. Advantage will stop larva and eggs from maturing and kill them. But they have to come in contact with the Advantage. Unfortunately fleas dont lay ALL their eggs on your pet. Using only Advantage will eventually stop the cycle, and kill all the fleas on your pet and in your home. But it's going to take at the very least 2 months, maybe longer depending how many fleas are in your home. If you are seeing fleas jumping other than just on your pets, you may want to give the Advantage some help by killing the eggs and larva before they become fleas. I recommend using a spray that is safe to use on dogs and cats. Make sure it is safe for any pets you may have in your home. I have always used Adams flea spray for cats. That way i know its safe if my cats come in contact with it. Make sure it says, safe for use on pets. Some flea sprays are made for the house only, and not for pets. Which i find ridiculous, because where do you put your pets while it dries? (Especially if you have 6 cats like me lol) And how can you be sure every spot you sprayed IS dry? Hence the reason i dont use any products in my home, if they are not safe for dogs, cats, and children to come in contact with. Or you can wait it out, in which the Advantage will rid you of your flea problem. But it may take a few months, depending how bad of a infestation you have. But you have to apply it every month on time. You can even apply it early. I have treated mine 2 weeks after the first treatment, because of a sudden bad infestation. Advantage 2 is extremely safe. (Not to be confused with ADVANTIX, WHICH WILL KILL CATS if they get a drop on them). ALWAYS ALWAYS read entire labels of any flea/tick product you are going to use on your pets, or in your home. I worked in veterinarian office for 8 years, and I use nothing but Advantage on my pets. I used it before I worked there, and always have found it to be safe and reliable. That is if you use it properly. Honestly you can IGNORE the bad reviews for this product. Those people obviously don't understand how the product works, or the life cycle of the dreaded flea! Good luck.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I recently tried Advantage II for Large Dogs, and I’m very satisfied with its performance. It offers comprehensive flea and lice prevention and treatment, which worked well for my dog in the 21–55 lbs range. After application, I noticed a significant decrease in fleas within a couple of days, and the treatment continued to protect for the full month.

Questions

1 - 10 of 29 Questions

Does this product require a prescription from a veterinarian?

My dog is a Maltipoo that's 11 lbs and 2 ozs. Is it safe to use the medium or should I use the small??

Is it safe to be used on dogs with renal disease?

Can I get the same deal on the price at the store here in my city as I can on line?

        1. I found the best price to get the “twelve pack”.  I could only get that on line.

Can anyone share the ingredient list?

What is the difference between Advantix and Advantage?

          1. I believe advantix protects against a larger variety of things, but I would confirm with your veterinarian.

Does this cause heart problems on your animals ?

          1. Used on my doggies for years. Great Dane (8 yrs), German shepherd (9), Terrier mix (17), Pomeranian (15). No heart problems. Yorkie (15) just passed, Heart problems from old age.

          Does this product expire?

          1. I was not able to find an expiration date on the box nor on the internal packaging, but on the back of the box there is an 800 customer service number you could try.

Is this medicine applied only between shoulder blades or down entire back?

          1. It is applied behind the neck or shoulder blades and on the back of the hip. This for complete coverage for large dogs.

Of the two Advantage II & K9 Advantix II, which one is not oily? Use to do tablets because I also have parrots in the house. Newer dog is allergic to the tablets & years ago I used one of these but can't remember which one was not oily.
