In a dog Buster's age, this swelling could be due to a tumor. It could also be due to an infection. The only way to know what is causing this is to have him seen by a vet. I'd take him into one in the morning.

I'm not sure by your message, if you are meaning that he is painful in that area where the lump is. That lump could be related to the grooming or just a coincidence. It looks like an area of small infection and could be from allergies, a scrape or an impacted hair follicle or small cyst. Your vet will need to look at that to get a diagnosis. You can use some Neosporin on it and keep it clean until you can get him in with them.

This large lump looks very infected, you need to take him to the vet ASAP in order to get it checked and treated, if this is just an infection a course of antibiotics will be needed but it could be something worse than that.
