Why is my Weimaraner suddenly lethargic, not eating or drinking?

With vague symptoms such as generalized lethargy, there is no right or wrong answer to taking her now vs waiting until the morning to see if anything changes. If she is vomiting or has diarrhea then I would take her for sure. Since she is still eating and drinking, you can monitor her for further changes such as those before going in. IF she is not better after 24 hours then I would get her checked also. If you will feel better and sleep better by having her checked tonight, then that is the best option for you.

Poor Lyl. There are so many things that can cause not eating and lethargy so it is hard to say for sure what is going on. I would make sure her gums are pink - if they are white, yellow or grayish blue then she is in critical condition and needs to go to the emergency clinic. Otherwise, you can try feeding her some plain boiled chicken (no bones) and white rice tonight and see if she will eat it. If not, then I would have your vet take a look at her. Your vet will be able to determine if she is in pain anywhere or if something else is going on. They will be able to do bloodwork and even X-rays if needed. I'm sorry Paws isn't doing well at the moment! I would try offering him water. Give him a chance to drink the water, I would keep offering it to him over an hour. If he refuses to drink the water, or he drinks the water and then vomits it up, then I would take him into the ER vet. It's a pretty serious sign when a dog won't drink water or can't keep it down, and in cases like that, it's best for them to see a vet right away. Should he drink the water and keep it down, then it's fine to wait until the morning to take him into the vet. Continue to monitor him tonight, and if Paws becomes very lethargic, the shaking gets worse, he starts vomiting, or he shows any other signs of illness, then take him into an ER vet right away. From the information you provided, and assuming she is an otherwise healthy puppy, I think it is OK to monitor her at home over the weekend and bring her to your veterinarian on Monday. Signs to watch for that would warrant a trip to the Emergency veterinarian would be repetitive vomiting or diarrhea, excessive lethargy (unwilling to rise or respond to you) or complete cessation of eating. You can offer her a bland diet such as boiled chicken or beef and rice (in a ratio of 2 parts rice to 1 part meat) in small meals over the next 24-48 hours to see if this helps her appetite. This may also help settle any gastrointestinal upset she may be having. Always make sure she has access to water as well. I hope this is helpful!

It sounds like Velvet went on a very long hike (good on you for doing it too!), and it could be that she is very tired from such a long hike. It is concerning that she is very lethargic and won't eat or drink. I would try to tempt her to eat by soaking her food in gently warmed low sodium beef or chicken broth, or by offering her small amounts of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice. Should she refuse to eat this, then I would have her seen by a vet for a health check.

I would get both Ali and Kai checked out by a vet as soon as possible. In summer, it's very important for dogs to drink a lot of water to stay cool, and it's concerning that Kai isn't drinking water. It's also concerning that Ali is vomiting. Being weak and lethargic is a general sign of illness that could be caused by systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury, so that is why a vet visit is recommended. I'm sorry to hear that Twinkle hasn't been feeling well today. I would recommend that he is seen by his veterinarian. There may be something on the physical exam that will point to a diagnosis such as joint pain. He may also need laboratory work to determine the cause of this sudden change in him.
