You can try training Harley to urinate on command. When you take her for a walk bring some high-value treats. Pick a command to use. Once she starts urinating, give her the command and reward her with the high-value treats. Make sure to do this consistently every single time. Some dogs can be trained in this fashion so that when you give the command to urinate, they do. Dogs are individuals however and some will take to this and some will not. Otherwise it may not be realistic that you can expect her to potty outside right away. If she is urinating in the house, when you take her outside and she does not go after 15 minutes, carry her back to her crate and put her in the crate for 30 minutes. Then carry her back outside for another 15 minutes. You repeat this until she potties outside. Praise and reward her and then she can have freedom in the house. Most pets will catch on to this quickly.

If needing an early morning bathroom break is a change, I'd recommend starting with a vet visit to make sure she doesn't have a UTI, bladder stone, skin infection, or even organ function problem etc. Those issues all can all increasing the amount of water she's drinking, making her need to go out in the middle of the night. If there is no medical issue, then it's a house training problem, which is difficult at her age. Usually using a crate to re-house train as if she were a puppy is the most effective course of treatment to deal with this.

Great question! I can give you the method I recommend for potty training puppies, which should also work with Jojo. Start by keeping her on a regular feeding schedule, and taking away her food between meals. Take her out to potty first thing every morning, and once every hour to couple of hours in the beginning. Always make sure she goes out after meals, first thing when she wakes up from a nap, last thing before bedtime at night, and right before you leave the house. Take her to the same spot each time to go potty. Her scent there will encourage her to go. Stay with her outside each time she goes to potty, at least until she is fully house trained. When she goes outside, praise her and give her a treat. You might want to consider crate training as part of her house training. It allows you to keep an eye on her for signs that she has to go potty, and will teach her to hold it until you put her outdoors. The crate needs to be big enough for her to stand up, turn around, and lie down, but it should not be big enough for her to go potty in. I hope this helps!

The best way to train her is to not leave her outside. You will need to be with her all the time to watch when she goes and praise and reward her for going. When you let her out of her crate, take her out to go... when she does reward her. If she does not then she goes back into the kennel for a few minutes and back outside again. All rooms with doors should be closed and she needs to be gated to be kept in your site. Or she needs to be leashed to an adult until this behavior has stopped. The area she is soiling needs to be cleaned with an enzymatic pet cleaner, like Nature's Miracle. She needs to be take out frequently and verbally praised, as well as given treats, when she goes outside. Play with her for 5-10 mins. If she doesn't go outside she is crated or leashed to an adult until you take her out again. This training should go on for 3 months and she can have free reign of the house once there are no accidents for those 3 months. You can have her urine checked for crystals or infection by your Vet and consider having her spayed to see if that helps. I wish you the best!
