Why is my 3-legged dog trembling, not active, but eating normally?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This is possibly neck or back pain or pain of a different source. It could still be pain associated with a leg even if nothing seems wrong with them. I recommend that you have Pari evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Likely diagnostics include radiographs. Treatment would be based on findings. At the very least they can prescribe pain control medications to make Pari feel better. In the meantime, reduce her activity as much as possible as that in itself can make a big difference. Good luck and have a good day!

Hi! Thanks for entrusting us with Bentley's care today! Lameness and/or possible leg pain and shaking can be a sign of a few things that range from a muscle sprain to even a fracture. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian so that this can be further assessed which will likely include radiographs. The lethargy and trembling could be related to nausea, but if Grif continues to show these signs I'd recommend having him examined by your vet. There are many, many diseases that can cause these symptoms and your vet might recommend running some tests to determine the underlying cause (such as blood work and x-rays of the abdomen). Your vet can also treat with anti-nausea medication and fluids if Grif seems dehydrated to help him feel better quickly.

Shaking is usually a sign of pain, according to the symptoms I can't be sure where the pain is coming from, possibly from his hips but it could be from somewhere else. I strongly recommend that you take him to the vet ASAP in order to get it checked and treated.

It sounds like Nino may be in pain or weak, and I'm quite concerned about his symptoms. It's worrying he can't eat and he's throwing up, and I think he needs to see a vet now. Please take him into one immediately.

Poor Polar. The shivering could be from pain or he could have a fever. You should have him examined by a vet to determine the cause. Your vet can run blood work if needed and then determine the best way to treat. He might need an antibiotic and/or pain medications to treat.

The slurping noise could simply be from eating a food with more moisture instead of having to crunch the dry kibbles. Trembling can be caused by so many things. To name just a few: pain, anxiety, muscle problems, neurologic problems, toxic exposure. If he is steadily losing weight but eating well, I would feed him more! If he doesn't gain weight in 1-2 weeks, he should be evaluated by a veterinarian. Also, you can use an OTC pet dewormer and see if that helps. If Tobias develops vomiting, diarrhea, or does not show a great appetite, I would recommend that he see a vet as soon as possible. Potential causes for this include dietary intolerance, dietary indiscretion, food allergy, intestinal parasites, GI blockage, gastroenteritis, bacterial or viral infection, IBD, pancreatitis, among others.
