Is my 2-month-old Rottweiler-Husky puppy healthy? What's on her paws?

Hi there. Ruffi is very cute. Knowing his size can be helpful in guessing what he is mixed with. However, just by looks maybe a terrier of some sort? Health is not something that can be determined by a picture. At this age he should be seeing a veterinarian every month for vaccinations and juvenile progress examinations. I can definitely see the area you are concerned about. It is probably a combination of poor nutrition and the environment that Luna was in before you adopted her. If the area is not inflamed, tender, or sore, I would not worry about it at all. If she does seem uncomfortable then you should take her to your vet to be checked out just in case. I hope this helps. Hello, they do appear fairly normal on that picture. Like us, dogs can develop calluses and thick paw pads depending on the substrate they walk on. Cement and gravel contributes to thicker pads, and Chloe being a Husky I assume she lives outdoors a great deal of time. Im not surprised that her paw pads are tougher than other dogs. You can get her boots to protect her feet and this may make her pads less tough over time. The boots may also help to protect you from her pads as well. You can also put socks on her as protection to you, but make sure she does not chew them off or swallow them. Hope this helps and best of luck.

I’m sorry but it is difficult to tell what’s going on with the foot with just a picture. If the fur is a reddish brown color or skin is red then it could be allergies or an infection. I would try Benadryl twice a day and a cone collar to prevent her from chewing it. See link below. With her being sick, there are several different causes from liver/kidney issues, diabetes, an infection, parasites, pancreatitis, and much more. Since it has been going on for awhile I would have your vet take a look at her. She is at high risk for dehydration because of her size. Your vet will be able to determine the cause, look at her foot and get her started on the proper meds to make her feel better. I hope this helps!

Sophie is beautiful! The picture is a little far away, but by zooming in, it could be that she has a sore under her nose. She could also have a skin infection in that area. Without seeing her in person, I can't say for certain, so the best thing to do is take her into the vet on Monday. The vet can diagnose what is causing this skin condition and how best to treat it. Thank you for posting the pictures as they are very helpful. I am concerned that these skin lesions look like an infection. It could be bacterial or fungal such as ringworm. I would highly encourage you to have them evaluated by your veterinarian soon. In the meantime please practice good hygiene after handling them as ringworm is contagious to people as well. This is definitely a mass, however it is not possible to say whether it is benign or malign from a photo. Your vet will likely suggest the complete surgical removal of this mass. He may also suggest a biopsy or a fine needle aspirate (FNA) where some tissue of the mass is removed and then either sent in to a laboratory or examined under the microscope. This will help determine whether this is a malignant mass or a harmless one.
