My Golden Retriever puppy vomits and won't eat his new dog food.

It's possible the change in food could be causing digestive upset. The best way to start transitioning to solids is to make a slurry of their regular milk replacer that they've already been on combined with a little bit of the puppy food. This helps make it easier to digest without being too big of a change and may help settle their stomachs. Checking for any parasites with a fecal exam and deworming may also help, however if the vomiting or diarrhea continues, a vet checkup to rule out anything more serious is best.

Puppies that young can deteriorate quickly. If she is not up to date on vaccines, parvo is a concern. But it could be other viral or bacterial infections, food intolerance, ate something that isn't agreeing with her, intestinal parasites or a foreign body. Try offering her something yummy like boiled chicken or hamburger with rice or some meat flavored baby foods. If she continues to not eat, starts vomiting or having diarrhea or is lethargic she needs to be seen. i wish you the best of luck and a speedy recovery for Miko

It’s possible that something on the walk caused Michi’s stomach upset: there are many, many potential causes of vomiting in dogs. I don’t necessarily consider one episode of vomiting an urgent problem, but if the vomiting continues, if Michi’s appetite is significantly decreased for 24 hours or more, or if he develops diarrhea then you should head to a vet.

It could be that Dakota has a GI illness or may have eaten something that upset her stomach. It's good that she has stopped vomiting and is drinking water, but I imagine her stomach is still a little sensitive from the vomiting. I can give you a home remedy to see if that helps her. I would feed her a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. If the medication is not helping Coco it is best to bring him back into your vet ASAP. It is possible there is an issue such as parvo that requires hospitalization and more care, or additional exams or testing needs to be done so the medications can be changed to help him feel better.

If a dog is going to suffer a vaccine reaction, it typically occurs the same day as the vaccination. So this is likely unrelated. He may be experiencing GI upset secondary to all the new treats. I would stop those for now. Being so young and small, he should see his veterinarian if symptoms persist. In the meantime, encourage him to eat and drink small amounts. It will be easy for him to become dehydrated at his size. I hope this information helps!

It seems as Max is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.
