Why is my 6-week-old puppy having trouble controlling her poop?

I suspect that what you describe could be actually liquid feces or if not it could be anal sac fluid which can be expressed excessively in cases of gastrointestinal issues. If it ever becomes consistent diarrhea, have her evaluated by a veterinarian before her scheduled appointment. Keep in mind that it may be best to continue the formula until she is 6 weeks old. She could have a parasite or an infection causing the problem. The best thing would be to have her examined by a vet to determine the exact cause. Your vet can test a stool sample for parasites and then prescribe medications to treat the diarrhea. She may need to a dewormer, antibiotic, or other medications. You could also add a probiotic to her diet and feed a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice for a few days and see if that helps.

This can be due to a neurological problem or aging changes. He also may be painful and not wanting to stand and hold the pooping position when outside. I recommend a veterinary exam to see if he’s painful or if there is a neurological problem. They may try him on pain medication. Acupuncture can also improve fecal incontinence sometimes.
