Why is my puppy making sounds, not eating, and won't sleep at night?

He may have a respiratory infection that requires an oral antibiotic for treatment. The sooner you get him seen and treated the better so that the infection has less of a chance to spread through the rest of the litter. I hope this helps! In terms of the appetite, this is sometimes not uncommon in puppies when they are in their new environment. I recommend that you continue to monitor him for now, especially if you just got him. If these symptoms of not eating well and sleeping a large portion of the day do not improve, have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Nala! The crying is normal for an 8 week old puppy in a new home. The vomiting and diarrhea is not normal and is not anxiety. Possible causes of vomiting and diarrhea are: intestinal parasites, viral (especially parvo) or bacterial infections, dietary indiscretion, reaction to new food/treats or a food allergy. Nala is very young and small. Not eating well combined with vomiting and diarrhea predisposes her to dehydration and low blood sugar risks. I highly recommend having her seen today and bring a stool sample. Also bring any paper work indicating recent vaccinations and dewormings. I wish you and Nala the best!

It is not unusual for puppies to not eat great as they get used to eating solid food. I would recommend you try different kinds of both kibble and canned food. If there is no improvement and he continues to not eat, I would recommend you consider having him evaluated by a veterinarian for that purpose and also to possibly establish care with a veterinarian for recommendations on preventative and early life care. HI, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Miko! Since Miko is so young and hasn't been eating I recommend you have her seen sooner than later. Puppies that young can deteriorate quickly. If she is not up to date on vaccines, parvo is a concern. But it could be other viral or bacterial infections, food intolerance, ate something that isn't agreeing with her, intestinal parasites or a foreign body. Try offering her something yummy like boiled chicken or hamburger with rice or some meat flavored baby foods. If she continues to not eat, starts vomiting or having diarrhea or is lethargic she needs to be seen. i wish you the best of luck and a speedy recovery for Miko

Oh dear! Poor Blue. I'm afraid this sounds quite serious. My first concern, with the symptoms you are describing and her age, is that she may have parvo - especially if her previous owners did not provide you with any paperwork showing that she had received her full series of vaccines. This is a serious, life-threatening illness that is unfortunately quite common in puppies. Other possible causes of her symptoms could include an intestinal obstruction, a serious infection of some kind, or ingestion of something toxic. Regardless of the underlying cause, these symptoms are serious enough to warrant a trip to the emergency vet tonight. He/she can do some diagnostic testing to help determine the problem and get her started on appropriate treatment right away.

Thank you for your question. If you go to Aki every time she whines, she will continue to whine. If Aki stops whining for 15 minutes, just let her be. Once she figures out that you are not going to come, she will eventually stop and learn that bedtime is bedtime, and the whining will stop. Don't reward her behavior with attention.
