My puppy has a head knot from playing. Should I worry after 4 days?

Hi I can see the swelling on Deijah's head. There are a few possibilities in a young dog : could she have bumped her head and now has a bruise swelling? Some skin cysts can look like this also. occasionally I see spider bites that develop into abscesses that can appear quickly. Does she seem painful when it is touched? If it's not going down in 1or2 days, you should take her to your vet for an exam.

Dutch may have injured his nose. I'd keep an eye on it tonight and if it doesn't go away, gets bigger, or starts to bother him, have him seen by a vet. If it affects his breathing, get him into a vet immediately.

Ouch, poor Ruthie! It could take from a week to two weeks for the bump to go down fully. Keep an eye on it, and if it doesn't go down or gets bigger, I would take her into the vet. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

My concern would be that the other dog may have bitten Hope on the head. Keep an eye on the swelling. If it is getting larger, if it starts to leak fluid, or if she isn't going back to a normal attitude when she wakes up from her nap, she needs to be examined by a vet right away as brain swelling could be fatal.

If the pup is nursing and acting normal he should be fine. Puppies are very flexible and usually heal quickly with injuries. If he's not eating or acting different from the rest then he may have a more serious injury. Your veterinarian will examine the pup and may give an anti inflammatory injection to reduce the swelling especially if there is a neurological problem. In the meantime you can put a cold pack on the area to reduce the swelling. There is not much else to do. Even if it seems bad as long as you keep the pup fed and warm he should improve with minimal treatment. I see what you mean. Keep an eye on it over the weekend, and if it's still there on Monday, have Logan seen by a vet. If it gets bigger, he starts bleeding from his nose, or he has trouble breathing have him seen by an ER vet.

It is possible that they are small wounds/ scabs from the puppies playing rough with each other. I commonly see play wounds on puppies.
