My Maltipoo puppy cries, has green poop, and walks while pooping. Normal?

There is a possibility he has microscopic intestinal parasites. This is common in puppies and causes diarrhea. I would not change his food as that is likely to make the loose stool worse. There is no deworming medicine that treats all parasites so even if he has been dewormed, it doesn't mean there isn't something there. Good luck and kisses to Rusty!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Murphy! Murphy is having diarrhea. It is common to have urgency and straining with diarrhea. It can make them uncomfortable and that is why they whine. Causes of diarrhea are: intestinal parasites, viral or bacterial infections, he ate something gross that is upsetting his belly, new food/treat/table food, food allergy/intolerance, toxin ingestion. Since Murphy is only 13 weeks old, I would take him to your Vet when they open. Bring a stool sample with you so they can test it for parasites. They may want to test him for Parvo virus if he is not vaccinated. Most likely he will be sent home with medications and a bland diet. I hope this helps and I wish Murphy a speedy recovery!

Champ's increased defecation, especially if watery or with blood or mucus can be a sign of intestinal parasites, infection, or even a foreign body. It is also concerning that he is more vocal and not acting like himself. I recommend having him seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible to determine what is going on - you can bring a stool sample with you in a disposable container so that your vet can check for intestinal parasites. These signs could be compatible with an infective gastroenteritis and, considering his very young age, I would recommend to have him checked as diet correction and specific treatment based on antibiotics may be needed.

At five weeks you can start transitioning to a puppy food that is moistened with some KMR or other replacer milk, or look for puppy mousse (Royal Canin and a few other companies carry it) that is designed for transition from milk to solid foods. Otherwise, keeping him eating and drinking can also help, as can testing for parasites or other illness and deworming if the stool does not return to normal.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Noelle. She is defecating more than is normal. Most dogs will only have two to three bowel movements per day. I recommend that she sees a veterinarian. She needs a new puppy exam, fecal testing, deworming and to discuss her diet. If she is healthy, her vaccines can be started as well. Some puppies will have soft stool due to the stress of coming to a new home. It is important to have her evaluated though as parasites are also common in puppies. Some can be spread to humans. I would recommend bringing Dakota to a veterinarian. Typically, I would recommend boiled chicken and white rice but due to her age I would recommend having a veterinarian make sure there are no intestinal parasites and that the diarrhea is just from the stress and diet change.
