Why is my old chihuahua shaking, unstable, and crying at night?

He will be carefully examined to determine if this is the case or if he has another problem. Based on these results and any diagnostic testing, treatment recommendations can be made. It sounds like he has injured his leg/pelvis and yes if he is reluctant to move he should be assessed by a vet for pain relief and possibly xrays to rule out a fracture or dislocation. Keep him well rested and prevent any jumping, slipping or falling which may further aggravate any injury he may have until you can have him fully assessed

There are an umber of possibilities but I would be concerned she may have ear or dental issues causing pain, discomfort and disorientation. Older dogs can also develop cognitive dysfunction (similar to dementia) which can cause similar signs - a full check up by your local vet would be recommended as soon as possible as early medication can help relieve many of these symptoms

Any abrupt behavioral change is a good excuse to get him in to see your vet. He may be starting to develop a medical condition that should be investigated but it's so early that the only symptom he is displaying is this strange behavior. There may be something happening periodically that is making him uncomfortable of the feeling comes and goes, but either way, it should be looked into by your vet. Your vet will do a thorough exam, possibly some x-rays and/or bloodwork, as indicated. Hello there. It sounds like Mochi may be painful. This could be due to back injury or sprain/strain of legs. However, other issues that could make Mochi act abnormally are neurologic disease or infection. I recommend taking him to the veterinarian so he can get a full examine to determine why he is acting abnormally. Your veterinarian may want to do bloodwork and/or x-rays to help make a diagnosis.

Poor guy. He certainly sounds like he may either be in pain or has some underyling neurological disorder going on here. Your vet should know where to start looking once a complete physical examination is done, because much more information can be gathered here. They will certainly want to start with some baseline bloodwork and possibly some x-rays if he seems to have any musculoskeletal issues as well. Some possible causes for these symptoms would be an underlying neurological disorder (i.e. IVDD), Addison's disease (disease of the adrenal gland), a toxin ingestion, or just pain from something internal. Your poor pup sounds ill! Without seeing him in person, I can't say what is causing his symptoms, but it could be due to a systemic infection or injury to name a few things. The best thing to do for him is to take him into a vet as soon as possible. I hope this helps!
