My male dog's genitals are infected after mating. See a vet?

I would get him in as soon as you can for treatment before this affects healthy surrounding tissue. He will likely need to be sedated and have the dead tissue removed for treatment and placed on a course of oral antibiotics and pain medications to reduce inflammation. If he has been chewing at the area, he must wear a plastic cone at all times to prevent him from getting to the incision. I hope this helps! This could be due to an inflammation which can have either a traumatic or an infective origin. Urinary tract inflammation could be present. I am sorry to hear about Hueso! It does like quite irritated here and I would be concerned he could have developed an infection of the skin or of the penis beneath the prepuce (the skin sheath of hte penis which is what we are seeing here). It is possible if he was repeatedly trying to breed with your female he caused repeated trauma to the skin and made it susceptible to bacterial infection. I would recommend getting him to the vet to examine the area. In the meantime, I would get an e-collar for him (the cone shaped collar) so he isn't licking the area and causing more irritation, and clean the area with a mild soap and apply a topical antibiotic ointment.

Unfortunately it is hard to tell when we cannot see exactly where on the penis this purple spot is. If it is a round swollen area, then that would be the bulbus which swells during copulation and locks the penis in the vagina of the female. If people separate the two dogs rather than wait until they part themselves, this bulbus can get injured and the female can also get injured. It is not a good idea to let this male mate with the three females in heat as he will introduce bacteria into their vagina and possibly uterus and so could cause a uterine infection (pyometra). If you could take some good photos of your dog's penis, we could better assess the situation and give you a more specific answer.

Yes, this looks like a bacterial infection of her vulva and this would require antibiotic treatment, If there is also a discharge from the vulva she also may have a uterine infection, therefore I suggest you take her to your veterinarian for an exam.
