What dog food should I feed my King Charles Cavapoo puppy?

I would choose a puppy formula in small bite size for Kylie. Make sure to mix her old food in with the new food over a couple of days so you don’t upset her tummy. The food needs to be slowly transition over 7-10 days introducing the new food in about 20% increment every other day. For detail, contact your veterinarian on how to transition the food. Recommended brands are Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina Pro Plan, and Iams. Choose one, and stick with it until about one year of age. After that, transition to an adult formula for small breeds from the same brand. Void feeding anything other than the dogs food and a few treats made specifically for dogs. Hopes this helps!

Hello and cute picture! For an 8 week old small breed puppy, I would recommend a small breed puppy food. Royal Canin, Science Diet, Wellness Brand, and Blue Buffalo make good choices, however there are a variety of options out there. I hope you find a food she will really like. The important thing to remember is to have Cali on a puppy food until she is about 9 months to a year old. You can then transition to adult food after that.

Congratulations on your new puppy Diggy! In general I like the brand Royal Canin. The dogs that I see (including my own) that eat that diet tend to have nice hair coats and good stool quality. They make a variety of breed specific and size specific diets. The breeds for the small dogs also have enzymes that make harder for bacteria to cling to teeth (which helps reduce tartar build up). As long as it is a name brand food with an AAFCO label on it. This means it has been tested and meets specific standards. Typically royal canin, Purina, science diet, and Iams qualify for this. Be careful switching foods without suddenly as this can cause diarrhea. It is best to mix them and gradually switch it over a week

This is because puppies require higher amounts of protein, calories, and calcium than adult dogs, and a puppy formulated food will provide that for him. I would recommend a good, high quality puppy food. If your puppy is going to be a larger dog then I always recommend feeding a puppy food that is specifically a 'large breed' puppy food. There are many good brands of dog food available. A few of the brands I like and recommend are Hill's, Purina, Eukanuba, Iams, and Royal Canin. Congratulations on your new puppy!
