How do I keep my dog out of my room? She thinks it's a playroom!

Do not let her into your room at bedtime. After she goes out for the last time give her a yummy treat or chew and put her in a crate to sleep in her bed in another room that you can confine her in. This behavior may get worse if you don’t stop it now. Please do not discipline her, it’s best to not let a confrontation happen by teaching her that your bed is not allowed ever, and she has her own place to sleep where she gets treats and her own space. I suggest blocking off your bed so that Oli doesn't have access to it for a few weeks. At the same time have a nice, comfy bed for Oli in the same room. You may also want to offer Oli a Kong stuffed with peanut butter or spray cheese so that can distract him in his bed. The easiest thing to do it block his access to them. Do not allow him in your bedroom, and put away any other throw pills in house. If you see Toto with one, take it away, and replace it with a toy. Find toys that he enjoys, and make sure he has access to them at all times. Praise him and give him treats when he plays with appropriate toys to reinforce that behavior.

The easiest option would be to put his dog bed in a crate and train him to sleep there - this way, you can close the door of the crate to keep him where you want him to be. Otherwise, there's really no way you can keep him from choosing to sleep someplace else. To train him to sleep in the crate, just put him in at night when it's time for bed (in your bedroom, ideally) with a special chew toy or long-lasting treat like a Kong stuffed with peanut butter, or a bully stick or pig's ear to encourage him to settle down and relax. Most dogs adapt to this nighttime routine very readily.

The easiest thing to do is block Panda's access to your mother's room. Make sure the door to her bedroom is shut when your mother isn't home, and you can put up a baby gate to prevent her from going down to your mother's room. Your mother can also start putting her dirty laundry in a basket that locks so Panda can't get into it. I hope this helps!

I would consider why she enjoys laying in that particular spot. Is the surface cooler or warmer than other surfaces? Softer or harder? More or less air flow? Quieter or louder? Do you give her attention when you have to pass around her? If you can try to figure out why she likes that particular area, you may be able to replicate it in a more convenient area of your home. You could also train her to go to a certain place, such as a crate, dog bed, or even a small rug in another area of the home.

Praise and reward Bentley when she lays on her bed. Restrict access to the room if possible. You can also use a physical barrier such as a carpet runner flipped upside down. The grips on the runner will be uncomfortable for her to lay on. You can also use a deterrent product such as a Scat Mat which will deliver a harmless shock if she jumps up onto the couch.
