My vet's prescription is unreadable. What is this pet medicine?

Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! Unfortunately you didn't provide your dogs weight so we can not give you doses. I recommend calling your Vet when they re-open. In the US it is not legal to prescribe medications with out a label and the medications not reconstituted (made in to a liquid from the powder form). Are you in the US? Also in the US we do not prescribe Acetominophen ( https://www.petcoach.co/canigive/dog/tylenol/ ). I recommend calling your Vet regarding that medication as we can't recommend giving it to dogs. I am sorry but if you want to re-post with Ringa's weight we can probably help with the Amoxicillin).

Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sorry to hear Bam Bam is having some skin problems. Shouldn't be flea or tick related since you have that covered. Skin problems can of course be caused by external parasites including mites, bacteria, fungus, allergies, irritants, etc. Best thing to do is to have Bam Bam evaluated by your vet unless these spots resolve on their own. Your vet can do a physical exam and perform skin tests if necessary (skin scrape, fungal exam, fungal culture, tape prep, cytology, etc) or any other tests to determine what is going on with her skin. Once that is determined, a treatment course can be developed. I hope Bam Bam gets well soon.

Allergies can have a wide variety of causes, including flea allergies, food allergies, or allergies to our surrounding environment. If possible, the first step in managing Bam Bam's signs is to determine the underlying allergen. Make sure he is on a high quality flea preventative (Nexgard, Bravecto, or Advantix) once a month year round. Consider if he has been receiving table scraps or has had a recent diet change that may be contributing in cases of food allergies. Otherwise, antihistamines (such as Benadryl) can provide some relief in some pets, but you should always speak with your vet before giving any medication to Bam Bam because they are aware of his previous medical history and any other concurrent medications that are being administered.

Hi there. You're correct that 2.5 mL is not the same as 0.25 mL, so I think there may have been a misunderstanding on your veterinarian's part if he said it was the same dose. I would suggest calling back tomorrow morning to discuss it, or stopping by with the new prescription so that you can actually show him the difference. If the new prescription was accidentally written incorrectly, he should be able to write you a new one :)

Unfortunately we cannot give a prescription for these medications, it's illegal for us to do so without seeing him in person. You will need a prescription to get these medications, and in order to get that, you will have to take him into the vet. I'd make an appointment for him to be seen in the next couple of days. I'm sorry but I cannot find any information on this medication. What is it for? I do not know what it is. You will have to call the vet that prescribed it to ask them your question. If you can get more information about the medication then we can maybe help you better.
