What does a Greyhound dog look like? Describe its appearance

From the pictures, Bella does not appear to be a purebred Greyhound, but I would be inclined to call her a Greyhound mix. If you want more specifics regarding her lineage, you can consider performing DNA testing on her using a Wisdom Panel (http://www.wisdompanel.com), but bear in mind that these are not 100% accurate. Regardless, she's beautiful! :-)

He does appear a bit light for the breed. Some German Shepherds stay small. However, I suggest you have him examined by your veterinarian who can then tell you whether he is too thin, or normal for his size (he is not fully grown yet), needs more muscling or needs better food for development. THis is only possible with a hands-on exam.

Hi there. I'm afraid it's not possible to tell what breed a puppy is just by looking at a photo, as coat color and length, general body shape, etc. often change a great deal as puppies grow. From what I can see, he looks like a medium-to-large breed of some sort. Possibly some kind of retriever mix, but that's just a guess. If you don't have any information about his parents, your best bet would be to have a DNA test such as a Wisdom panel done. This would give you more information about what breed (or mix of breeds) he is, which would allow you to make a more educated guess about his adult size and weight.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Oh goodness I love greyhounds and in the US we never see them as puppies just as adults rescued off the race track! Sadly a lot of skin conditions look exactly the same. The most common skin diseases that look like that are: demodex (non-contagious mite) which are sometimes hard to get on a scrape, a skin infection either from yeast or bacteria or ring worm. I recommend you ask your Vet about treating for demodex despite a negative scrape. Some of the edible flea and tick products are being used off label to treat demodex. I'd also ask the vet about doing a tape cytology of one of the hairless areas and look at it under the microscope to see if there are too many yeast or bacteria present. And then have them send out a culture of the hair/skin for ringworm. The culture can take up to 4 weeks to be finalized. I guess ultimately it could be nutritional and Rain just may need time on the diet you have him on. Good luck!

Its a little hard to gauge, as theres not a great deal of size reference here. Typically, huskys are a bit smaller and more "lean." It may help if you let us know her weight and age; under her pets info there is no age but it says she's 30 pounds, not sure thats accurate. This would depend on the severity of the tear. It can take a minimum of 2-3 months for minor injury and longer if he requires surgical repair. If and when he returns to competition, he will likely be slower. This could be considered a career ending injury if it is severe.

I would recommend using an ointment such as Sentry Wound Ointment, which can be found at PetCo and apply twice daily until resolved.
