Menthol can be toxic to the GI tract, causing stomach upset and intestinal irritation that may result in vomiting, lack of appetite, and/or diarrhea. However, the concentration is pretty small in this product. If you notice any of these symptoms , stop using the medication. If this was prescribed by your vet, continue using it as prescribed; however, if he is no longer coughing, you can ask your vet if its ok to discontinue it altogether as he may just not need it anymore. I hope that helps you! Thank you for asking Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
