What food should I give my 2-month-old puppy or kitten for growth?

Kittens do the majority of their growth in the first five to six months of life but continue to grow until they are around one year old. During this time of rapid growth and maturation of their bones, it is very important to choose a complete and balanced diet with the appropriate levels of nutrients. Diets formulated for growth include those labeled for kittens or “all life stages.” Canned foods promote increased water consumption in cats, and feeding dry food exclusively or in combination with canned is also acceptable. Offering a kitten with a variety of textures early in life can be helpful in minimizing the chance of having a picky eater. Regardless of diet selection, always make diet changes gradually by mixing the old and new foods together over five to seven days and make sure to carefully measure the appropriate portions of your cat’s food. Abrupt changes have a greater likelihood of resulting in vomiting and/or diarrhea.

You should feed her kitten food, canned food if possible because it adds water to her diet since most cats don't drink a ton of water. This in turn helps promote good urinary and kidney health long term. You should get a high quality kitten food such as Fromm, Hills science diet, Royal Canin, Evo or Eukanuba. This is true. Puppies this old cannot ingest milk so it is likely to just go straight through them and cause diarrhea. The best thing to give 2 month old puppies is a beginner puppy food such as Royal Canin --> https://www.royalcanin.com/us/dogs/products/retail-products/small-starter-mother-and-babydog-dry-dog-food This food is meant for puppies up to 2 months of age. Once they are going on 9 weeks old, then you can slowly transition them to a regular puppy formula food (dry or wet). I am sorry to hear about your concern for your kittens! Royal Canin kitten food would be a great food to feed them, I normally recommend that or Purina Pro Plan kitten. If they seem to be slow to grow I would also recommend an examination by the vet to ensure there are no health problems and for them to have a fecal checked to test for intestinal parasites and deworm with a product like Panacur and Droncit to treat for possible parasites.

If the kitten is 1-2 months old than she should be able to eat some regular cat food, especially if you get wet food and add some water to it. Human baby formula is not ideal but if you can't get kitten milk replacer and she is not eating solid food than you could give her some. It would be best to use a kitten formula or just regular cat food. Most kittens than are 2 months old are ready to be weaned from their mothers.

Hi there. I would recommend feeding her a high quality kitten food until she is 9 months old. You can feed her canned food and dry food. At two months of age, Zuri is old enough to eat dry food on her own and there is no need to give her dry food with water or milk in it. You can give her wet food as part of her diet or as an occasional treat. I hope this helps :-)
