Is dyeing my dog's tail with Kool-Aid safe? What are the risks?

There are safe ways to dye a dog's hair such as food coloring or even natural dyes from foods such as beets that are safe, non-toxic ways to add color to Molly's hair. Some argue that changing the color of a dog's fur could cause undue stress as they are not used to seeing the color on themselves and others state that it could cause allergic reactions. Any of those arguments could hold true so whether you dye Molly's hair is up to you. I would just recommend using natural products or even use chalk (can find at pet stores) to add color to the fur. A more safe way you could take would be to find a sweater or shirt that is the color of what you would like. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Hello. I see no problems with any of the ingredients except for the grape juice powder. Grapes, in any form, can be toxic to dogs, so I would leave this out. But everything else should be fine for either a horse or a dog. Thanks for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach

Thank you for contacting PetCoach with your question about Kip. Poor boy! I would gently clean his wound with warm water and antiseptic soap. To keep him from licking at it, you can put an Ecollar on him. You can get one at a pet store or make one at home. Keep the wound clean and dry, and monitor it for signs of infection. If you see redness, swelling, warmth to the touch, or pus, then it is infected and he will need to see the vet for antibiotics to treat it. I think if you keep Bailey out of the room during the hair dying process, use good ventilation and then do not allow her back in that room until the smell is gone if good enough. I can't imagine her coughing from just smelling your hair so I do not think you need to avoid her. Have a great day!

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I don’t see anything overtly dangerous in them, though the green tea could have a little caffeine. In general, it probably didn’t hurt Cocoa but it’s not the best choice for a treat. Stick to dog treats in the future- especially if you’re not sure what something is because there are few things that are very dangerous to dogs (xylitol, macadamia nuts to name a few).
