Is my dog safe from "zombie deer" disease spreading locally?

Updated on September 23, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 8 months old | 20 lbs

Since “zombie deer” disease is spreading around the U.S., I looked up that The county I live at is affected and I live by a forest where there is deer, Im pretty concerned if my dog would be safe from the disease?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Bow. Zombie deer disease refers to a condition known as chronic wasting disease. As far as I know, there have no cases reported in dogs. So Bow should be fine. I hope this information helps!
