My dog has fast heart, yellow skin, white gums. Is it anemia?

A warm dry nose is a pretty non-specific sign that doesn't really mean anything in particular, and a pale or thinning haircoat can be associated with any kind of long-term illness. It sounds like Bae may be seriously ill, so I would recommend taking him to an emergency clinic tonight to be seen. If this isn't possible, then I would take him to your regular veterinarian first thing in the morning. Your veterinarian can do blood work, x-rays, or other testing if needed to help diagnose the problem and see what kind of treatment is needed.

Hello, The blanching of gums is probably due to a low red blood cell count. The low red blood cell count and white blood cell count is concerning for tick borne disease, bone marrow disease or autoimmune disease. In order to make a diagnosis, I recommend screening for cancer with chest x-rays and abdominal ultrasound, testing for tick borne disease, and possibly a bone marrow aspirate. If results are negative for infection and cancer, this is likely autoimmune and warrants immunosuppressive therapy with steroids. The only other possibility is an adverse drug reaction so discuss any medications your pet is taking with the veterinarian.

Yes, with any immune-mediated disease you can see these symptoms. They are serious symptoms so if Jess is not already under the care of a veterinarian then you need to get her care urgently. Anemia should be ideally retested. At this stage, with the clinical informations you provided, is mild to moderate and could have been caused only by inflammation. I would recommend to retest the anemia when both the abscess is completely resolved and the course of treatment over. Pale gums are related to lack of perfusion or anemia (low red blood cell count). Any of the reasons that cause pale gums are a true emergency and she should be examined right away. Oh no. Poor Sawyer. Yes this is considered to potentially be an emergency situation. These red blotchy areas are called petechiae and this could indicate a spontaneous bleeding disorder or platelet malfunction. I would recommend taking Sawyer in to an ER vet to have blood testing done and appropriate treatment depending on blood analysis findings.
